Munchkin Inc. is a Californian company that designs and makes products for babies and very young kids. In 2023, it appeared in Fortune magazine’s list of most innovative American companies.
Munchkin’s 2022 report takes its cue from the previous year’s report. It relies on the same typefaces – a modern serif reminiscent of typewriter typefaces and a sans serif, each in two weights.

Its approach to colour is slightly different. While it sensibly opts for a bright palette with hints of pastels, here it combines these in soft gradients, giving large blocks of colour an airy feel.
The charming papier-mâché animal sculptures are back, set in dioramas with kids. They are joined this year by simple, abstracted animal forms, which tie together the various sections of the report.
The designers use looping arrows as a motif and these provide a visual contrast to the clear-cut, no-nonsense typography. The report accomplishes all this in a surprisingly compact 21 pages, making it one of the smaller sustainability reports covered at Crunite.
