HJ Capital is a state-operated financial services company in the prefectural city of Zhuhai, in the province of Guangdong, China (as of 2024, it trades as ‘Huajin Financial (International) Holdings Limited’).
HJ Capital’s multi-ARC Award-winning annual report of 2018 is a prime example of how to create a winning report by working closely with your printer (in this case, iONE Financial Press Ltd.) and paying special attention to materials.
The two striking features of the report are its binding and its paper usage. The report omits a traditional cover. Instead, it is bound using an open stitching technique with an interesting twist: the coloured thread used to stitch the spine remains uncut, leaving trails of brightly coloured thread that echo the rainbow theme of the report.
As for paper usage a bulky, textured, brightly coloured is used throughout the report. These are paired with full-bleed, coloured pages and, in the opening pages, with large type. This bold colour usage is carried through into the financial sections as well, making the report a truly memorable one.
